Mason Chiropractic, Vertebral Subluxation, Adjusting Children

There is a some controversy about whether or not children should have their spines checked for spinal subluxations and, if so, what effect subluxation will have on their health. The medical and pharmaceutical professions promote medication as being the best form of treatment for every sickness a child has. Doctors of chiropractic adive that adjusting a child’s spine can have far reaching effects on the child’s health, raising the child’s natural immunity, relieving nerve pressure and subsequently, relieving various health conditions caused by nerve interference.

In 1979, the New Zealand government, wanted an unbiased study on the profession of chiropractic and put together an independent commission to study the profession. The commission consisted of teachers, lay people, etc. and the study continued for 2 1/2 years. The commissions findings were then published. In regard to the subject of children being adjusted by doctors of chiropractic, the commission concluded that,

  1. Children with a wide variety of disorders responded favorably to chiropractic care.

  1. Children should be viewed as a special population for chiropractic care and that government funding of chiropractic services should be at a substantially higher level for children than adults.
