| ADJUSTING CHILDREN | ||||||

| There is a lot of controversy about whether or not children should have their spines checked for spinal subluxations and, if so, what effect this will have on their health. The medical and pharmaceutical professions promote medication as being the best form of treatment for every sickness a child has. Doctors of chiropractic concur that adjusting a childs spine can have far reaching effects on the childs health, raising the childs natural immunity and subsequently, relieving various health conditions. The New Zealand government, wanting an unbiased study, put together an independent commission to study the profession of chiropractic in 1979. The commission consisted of teachers, lay people, etc. The study continued for 2 1/2 years and then the commissions findings were published. In regard to the subject of children being adjusted by doctors of chiropractic, the commission concluded: That children with a wide variety of disorders responded favorably to chiropractic care. Children should be viewed as a special population for chiropractic care and that government funding of chiropractic services shoud be at a substantially higher level for children than adults. |
